Gamehouse Canada, originally Backstage Games, was a subsidiary studio acquired by RealNetworks during a time of success and growth. During it's evolution, I worked as a designer and animator for their mobile slots games and "Slingo" related games, still enjoyed today, Created in-game assets, character animation, UI, online ads and conceptual work.
A great experience with a small production team (12) that grew into 50 working on a variety of virtual casino apps for Facebook and mobile platforms.
– Downtown East Side Games
My first job designing characters and assets for mobile and social games. A great remote gig, creating art and animation for what eventually became the first mega successful marijuana-themed, farming game on Facebook. Working for a small local studio, (paired with Vancouver studio, DES Games), “Pot Farm” at it’s peak, garnered 1.5 million monthly users and over 6 million downloads. It was a 2010 finalist at the Canadian Video Game Awards and newer iterations and spin-offs of the brand are still produced, downloaded and played today on mobile.
– Private Education Sector
A diverse role in which I helped design and produce animations tailored for online education modules. The project had me working directly with young students, directing audio sessions and recording their voices to be used in animations for K-10 education modules. During my time there, I helped produce work on dozens of fully produced short animations for award winning online tools and print materials in the private education sector.
-Spike TV/ Spumco Inc
My first job out of film school, and still one of my favorites, creating hand-drawn classical animation scenes for the famous but short-lived, "Ren and Stimpy Adult Party” on SPIKE TV. My first and last gig, animating with pencil and paper.

ROB Factoids:
Rob Jones grew up on Vancouver Island as the middle brother of 5 boys through the 80's and 90's, watching cartoons and toy commercials! Interests in animation started early, entertaining classmates with animated stick-people in flip books created from school textbooks. He was the first kid on his block to own a video camera and would make films starring his action figures.
Interests and involvement in Arts carried into his high school years. Rob was involved in Theater Stage Craft and was a main cast member for Grease, West Side Story, and Little Shop of Horrors. Rob graduated as High School Valedictorian for Spectrum's class of '99.
Post high-school, he enrolled at Vancouver Film School for Classical Animation in 2001, and his animated short film, “Kung Foolery” was screened and nominated at the BC Film Festival, the Santa Clarita Film Festival, and the "Just for Laughs Festival" in Montreal.
After film school Rob landed his first job in animation at Carbunkle Cartoons, working on Spike TV's, "The Ren and Stimpy Adult Party" under Director Bob Jacques. (The first and only time he'd use pencils and paper for animation as everything turned digital)
In 2003, Rob had his art published in the children's book, "George the Moose Goes to School". Rob also became the recipient of the Canadian “Ben Wicks Award” with a $10,000 Prize for his illustrations published by Regional Maple Leaf and distributed in schools throughout Canada, as the “Drug Facts For Young People” booklet.
His work after 2005 involved working for a local e-learning company, helping to produce award-winning online educational programs and teaching tools in the private education sector.
His first fully-produced animated short, "Police Cops" also won $10,000 and 2nd place at the iLaugh Shorts Festival in 2006.
Rob has spent a decade in game development, creating 2D digital art and animation which is viewed by millions of subscribers to various to online games still being played today.
Rob's also proud of his work with the Vancouver studio, "Jesters Animation", providing character animation and designs for various comedy series on Youtube: Mondo Shorts Channel, as well as for the children's education show "Momolu and Freinds".
His personal projects include, Police Cops, "Corntooth Incorporated", "War of the Wiz", and "The Squatch Watch", all self produced by himself@ "Ten-Four Animation"
Rob hopes to continue his love of the arts, working with amazing people, making his music, being with his family and laughing every day.
